St. Georgen - viewing platform

WISMAR FROM ABOVE - with the elevator to the viewing platform at a height of 35 m
St. George's Church is one of the largest brick churches in northern and eastern Germany. Destroyed by bombing raids, the ruins were left to decay until 1990. On January 25, 1990, a hurricane caused the gable of the north transept to collapse. This event provided the impetus for the reconstruction of the church. In May 2010, the 20th anniversary of the reconstruction of St. George's Church was celebrated. With the viewing platform on St. Georgen, Wismar offers its holidaymakers and day visitors a new and impressive view of the old town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and the harbor. The elevator to the viewing platform can be used daily during opening hours.
Admission to the church is free of charge.
Admission prices for the viewing platform:
3.00 euros, reduced 2.00 euros, children up to 6 years free admission 2.50 euros, for tour groups of 15 people or more.
The exhibition is accessible.
