"Quickie" in the hypershell

"Quickie" in the hypershell

Motto: "Artists without work, galleries without art"

On Thursday, May 1, 4 p.m. - midnight, the FreshEggsGallery will open its hypar shell at Johannes-Brahms-Straße 65 in Schwerin.

Gallery owner Stephan Schrör explains: "The last one-day exhibition was a complete success. We want to establish this as a recurring "quickie" format. In other words, very short exhibition times for individual artists or smaller collectives."

Motto of the first "Quickie" on May 1: "Artists without work, galleries without art"

Culture Minister Bettina Martin invites us to the upcoming State Culture Conference 2025 to discuss basic cultural services. The nationwide "basic cultural provision" is central to Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The question is: how can cultural offerings be reliably secured even in challenging times? Studio deaths and possibly misguided funding policies are up for debate.

As a dystopian outlook on a world without visual art, no art will be shown in the Hyparschale on May 1st. Instead, in preparation for the Landeskulturkonferenz, we want to enter into a discussion with as many artists and creators as possible, but also with those responsible for cultural policy.

We invite all interested parties to this discourse on Thursday, May 1st.
