Oper im Kaufhaus – „Verfall | Eine florentinische Tragödie“

  • from 22.00€ to 32.00€

In this new production of the PHOENiX festival, the one-act opera “A Florentine Tragedy” by the ostracized composer Alexander Zemlinsky (1871-1942) meets the orchestral songs “Decay” by Joachim Schweppe (1926-1999).

The gripping psychodrama (text: Oscar Wilde) about the cloth merchant Simone, his wife Bianca and the prince Guido Bardi tells the story of the decline of a marriage in a disturbing way.

A thrilling opera thriller at the end of which a murder occurs…

As a prologue, the work "Verfall" by Joachim Schweppe is heard as a multimedia performance with expressionist images by Carlo Kriete and, with the poetry of Georg Trakl, opens a glimpse into the soul of the female protagonist.
