A play developed by David Stöhr and ensemble on the subject of "Mental illness in families"

What does it mean for a child if their mother or father suffers from a mental illness?

In sensitively told stories, David Stöhr and the ensemble show children and children of mentally ill parents that they are not alone in their situation - and that everything they feel and think is okay. But they also show where the limits of a child's agency lie and how good it can be for children and parents to seek help.

Many book titles such as Mama's Monster, Sunny Sad Days or What's wrong with Mama? show the need for help-seeking and assistance.

David Stöhr, a trained psychologist and drama director, explores together with the ensemble how to bring this topic closer to affected children and families in a playful way. Stöhr regularly develops plays in psychosocial centers. Since August 2020, his production of the world premiere of Lauf und bringen uns dein nacktes Leben by Rainer Merkel can be seen at Staatstheater Darmstadt.

Cooperation between the Junges Staatstheater Parchim, the district of Ludwigslust-Parchim, represented by the health department and the GKV - Bündnis für Gesundheit.

The premiere and all other performances can be booked free of charge both on the move and at the Parchim location by registering at kasse-parchim@mecklenburgisches-staatstheater.de. This is made possible by the provision of funding from the statutory health insurance funds of the state of MV for the project: "PsyGiFam - Taking a closer look at the topic of health promotion and prevention".
