"Bring on the sausages!"

After the great magician Petrosilius Zwackelmann was defeated for the first time more than fifty years ago, the robber Hotzenplotz was arrested and the fairy Amaryllis was freed from the evil spell, but above all after the grandmother finally had Kasperl, Seppel and her coffee grinder back, Otfried Preußler, inventor and author of the robber Hotzenplotz, received countless letters from enthusiastic children demanding a sequel to the Hotzenplotz adventure. After some hesitation (after all, he had given Zwackelmann a rather final exit in the first volume), Preußler set to work: "Kasperl, Seppel and the head constable Dimpfelmoser are all excited. The robber Hotzenplotz has escaped from the fire station, kidnapped his grandmother and is even demanding a ransom", the publisher announced a few years later in the second Hotzenplotz volume. In this one, the chief constable is in dire straits because Hotzenplotz has not only locked him in the fire station tied up with a fire hose and eaten his grandmother's freshly roasted Thursday sausages - his service bicycle and police uniform are also gone. And because one has to resort to such means in unusual situations, Kasperl, Seppel and Dimpfelmoser seek advice from the state-certified clairvoyant Widow Schlotterbeck, whose dachshund Wasti is stuck in the body of a crocodile as a result of a jinxed mishap. It would be a laugh if they didn't manage to free the grandmother and put the robber Hotzenplotz back under lock and key.

Following the great success of the family play The Robber Hotzenplotz in the 2022/2023 season, director Patrick Wengenroth, together with musician Matze Kloppe and set designer Marc Freitag, is bringing a new version of The Robber Hotzenplotz to the stage of the Großes Haus.
