A WARM INVITATION TO IFOM 2024 Dear those interested in Orthodox spirituality and church life! We are pleased to invite you to the 1st International Festival for Orthodox Singing and Church Tradition in Hamburg. From September 25th to 29th, you will experience a diverse program with musical highlights, workshops, interesting lectures, and discussions at the Serbian Orthodox Church community in Hamburg. All information can be found at: https://www.paolinabunderla.com/ifom2024-festival PROGRAM OVERVIEW: September 25th/26th: Workshop I — Byzantine Chant Immerse yourself in the fascination of monophonic Byzantine chant in a two-day workshop. This special singing tradition is part of UNESCO's intangible cultural heritage. The artistic director is Priest Igor Zirojevi (Athens, Greece). (2 days, à 6 hours + certificate) Workshop II — Icon Painting Gain a first, practical insight into the fascinating world of icon painting. The workshop is led by Maria Zirojevi Tzamourani (Athens, Greece). Further program points: Portrait of a Visionary Inna Tsareva, Orthodox theologian, lawyer, artist, and author of Orthodox literature, Deputy Rector of St. Elizabeth Orthodox Gymnasium, Moscow Biographical portrait in dialogue Book presentation "The Wisdom of the Holy Fathers" Presentation of artistic works and their significance for Orthodoxy in the light of the eventful history of the Balkans. Please arrive early and look for parking in the surrounding area. It is recommended to travel by public transport. TICKETS: Ticket sales start at the end of August. Tickets can be purchased daily at St. Michael Church, Schellingstraße 9. The box office opens one hour before the concert begins. You can also pick up reserved tickets before the festival starts. Payment is only possible in cash. Ticket price: 20 € per day for festival visitors. Price for a two-day workshop: 120 € Binding ticket reservations and workshop inquiries can be made at: festivalpravoslavnemuzike@gmail.com Note: Our church offers a limited number of 150 seats (including 20 standing places). COSTS: All organizers, helpers, artists, and choirs work voluntarily and without pay. Therefore, we have kept the ticket prices very affordable. The goal of the festival is to introduce visitors to Orthodox church and singing traditions. By purchasing a ticket, you support the fixed costs for the organization and execution of the festival. IFOM 2024 is an initiative by members of the project choir of the Serbian Orthodox Church of St. Archangel Michael in Hamburg. The festival is an expression and result of a lively church music life. In addition, interested visitors will experience the diversity of Orthodox singing and church traditions within the framework of an attractive festival program. NOTE: The festival does not provide refunds in case of non-attendance. Tickets cannot be canceled, but are not personalized and can therefore be transferred to others.
