Jazz, Blues, Swing & Chanson
Duty Free
Thursday, 12/12/2024 / 06:00 PM - 07:00 PM / Elbphilharmonie Kulturcafé
The quartet Duty Free around bassist Timon Krämer was founded by him in 2022 and plays exclusively his own compositions. In addition to their love of improvisation, the musicians are also linked by their joint studies at the HfMT Hamburg and a close friendship. After a two-week stay and several concerts in Glasgow and Edinburgh (Scotland) with Rafael Müller (dr), the idea for their own project with their own pieces developed. As the repertoire for a concert was already almost complete due to the composition studies, the only thing missing was the other capable musicians. The piano and trumpet/flugelhorn are played by long-time companions: Aydn Bayramolu (pn) and Benjamin Stanko (trp/flh) have both played with Timon and Rafael in various formations. The quartet also covers a wide range of styles, from Latin American rhythms and swing to balladesque, modal or groove-orientated jazz.
Please note: For organisational reasons, the concert has been relocated to Studio E of the Laeiszhalle.
